MEET OUR VOLUNTEERS - They Made It All Happen!

Here's an opportunity to meet the groups of community-minded people who worked hard to make your visit to the Festival a memorable one!

Les has been helping out at the Festival for much of its 10 year history, and this year she agreed to take on the newly-created position of Festival Coordinator.

Her top priority this year has been working with various volunteer organizations in the area to get the 'show on the road' and make sure everything goes smoothly during the event.

These folks are resurrecting the Appaloosa Club in the Central Region and will be able to host clinics and workshops

Organization:        100 Mile House Mural Society
Festival Duties:     ADMISSION GATE
Team Leader:      Judith Hayes

The 100 Mile House Mural Society has been a registered society since 2004. Their goal is to depict historical and cultural images of the pioneers, first nations and businesses that have contributed to the growth and development of 100 Mile House. To date the society has facilitated the creation of five existing murals and are currently working on several others. The 100 Mile House Mural Society has need of more members who would be willing to volunteer for the society vision to ‘Paint the Town’. Anyone interested can log onto the website: 100milemurals.com

Organization:        Citizens on Patrol
Festival Duties:     SECURITY
Team Leader:       Ken Kerr

Citizens on Patrol is on duty 24/7 throughout the Festival, handling all aspects of security. They liase with the 100 Mile House detachment of the RCMP. 'COPS' have handled security for the Festival for the past few years and they do an outstanding job. We are extremely grateful to them for the peace of mind they provide during this important event.

Festival Duties:     EQUIPMENT SETUP & TAKEDOWN and
                        GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

Team Leader:      Tricia Lins

This dedicated group has volunteered for many local events including the rodeo, ‘Hot July Nights’ car show, the BC Northern Winter Games among many others and volunteered for the Garlic Festival last year. The money they earn will help fund their trip to the Interior Self-Advocate conference being held in October in Vernon where they will attend workshops on how to continue to be contributing members of their community.

Festival Duties:     KIDZONE
Team Leader:      Trish Chung

Funds will be used by the Cariboo Family Enrichment Centre to continue to provide programs that benefit South Cariboo families.
Organization:        Lac La Hache Community Club
Festival Duties:     ENTERTAINMENT
Team Leader:      Jeanette McCrea

Funds earned from the festival will help the Community Club to continue to enhance the culture and history of Lac la Hache including helping the Lac la Hache Historical Society with their efforts to get water service at the Felker Homestead and to resurrect the music festival that was a well known tradition in the area.
